Audio Engineering

BA (Hons), Recording Arts Master of Arts CMP

The Audio Engineering pathway offers students a thorough education of all aspects of audio engineering and is designed to train the future professionals of the audio industry. This highly practical pathway provides students with skills in all audio production-related areas and provides an excellent pathway into careers in post-production, surround sound (for film), audio engineering, mixing and assistant studio posts. The SAE degree* programs also cover aspects of business management, marketing, legal and contemporary issues.

Film Making

BA (Hons), Film Making Master of Arts CMP

The Film Making pathway focuses on a combination of traditional and modern production and directing techniques, video post-production, digital film technology and computer-aided production. It combines traditional camera and lighting techniques with digital editing and compositing, utilising industry-standard software. This highly practical pathway develops the skills required of today's TV and film professionals. The SAE degree* programs also cover aspects of business management, marketing, legal and contemporary issues.

Electronic Music Production

BA (Hons), Film Making Master of Arts CMP

The unique EMP provides an opportunity for music enthusiasts to unleash their passion for sound on the best music equipment on the planet, training with the industry experts. The program encourages individualism and combines the fundamentals of electronic music production with practical experimentation and personal creativity. Students will graduate with the skills and knowledge to create the music they love and gain a strong foundation for future learning.

Levels of Study

SAE provides access to five different levels of study to suit every students' needs:

Certificate

SAE Certificate programs are ideal for younger students, audio hobbyists, musicians, DJs and teachers of music in secondary and tertiary education, including those who enjoy experimenting with technology as well as electronic music.

These programs are a foundation for further learning and are also delivered in flexible,
part-time formats that allow for students who may be working or studying.

The Electronic Music Production Program is offered at SAE Auckland, New Zealand.

Diploma

The SAE Diploma programs have received industry and academic acclaim for over 25 years across the globe. These intensive programs are the foundation of every SAE qualification and offer high-level, hands-on practical training in combination with advanced theoretical study. This powerful combination provides our students with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in the competitive creative media industries as well as equipping graduates for further study to degree level.

The Diploma In Audio Engineering(Level 5) and the Diploma In Film Making(Level 5) programs are offered at SAE Auckland, New Zealand.

Bachelor Degree

The Bachelor Degree programs provides a strong focus on technology, creativity and the development of academic, practical and business skills. These BA Degrees represents the state-of-the-art in digital and creative media education.

SAE Auckland Diploma graduates wishing to further their career goal may continue their studies with SAE Institute (Byron Bay, Australia). SAE Auckland Diploma graduates are able to complete a further 12 months of study in the final second year of the Bachelor of Audio Production Degree program or the Bachelor of Film Production Degree program with SAE Byron Bay, on successful completion of their Diploma in Audio Engineering or Diploma in Film Making with SAE Institute, Auckland, New Zealand.

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree*

This prestigious international degree is assessed and awarded by Middlesex University.
The Bachelor of Arts(Hons) Degree program is available via an approved credit transfer system (RPL) through the SAE International Graduate College (IGC). This Honours Degree emphasises creative media project work and is an ideal pathway to Masters and other postgraduate studies through the SAE International Graduate College.

Graduates that successfully complete the Bachelor of Audio Production Degree or the Bachelor of Film Production Degree, have the option to continue their studies (approx 6 months distance learning) into the Bachelor of Arts-Honours Degree, to complete the 'Honours' component with our partner: the SAE International Graduate College (IGC).

The BA(Hons)Recording Arts Degree and BA(Hons)Film Arts Degree are not offered by SAE Auckland. The BA(Hons) Degree programs are available to residents of New Zealand through distance learning only.

Master of Arts Degree*

Graduates of the Bachelor of Arts(Hons) Degree have direct access to postgraduate studies through SAE International Graduate College (IGC). Admission to programs at this level is always competitive, but SAE graduates have privileged status in the process. The advanced professional practice and research Conferences are convened annually by the SAE IGC in different parts of the world thus providing postgraduate students with access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. SAE Auckland does not offer the Master of Arts In Creative Media Practice. The Masters Degree program is available to residents of New Zealand through distance learning only.



* BA (Hons) Programs validated by Middlesex University, England. The Master of Arts In Creative Media Practice is validated, assessed and awarded by Middlesex University, England.
