Since the establishment of the School of Audio Engineering in 1976 by Dr. Tom Misner, SAE Institute has grown to become the largest international network of colleges providing audio, digital film, multimedia, animation and game development training. SAE Institute is represented in twenty countries on four continents. SAE has two institutes in The Netherlands: Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

SAE Institute established its first school in the Netherlands in 1991. We now provide professional training in all aspects of media technology, currently training some 400 students per year. Our graduates can be found in many professional production facilities throughout the Netherlands, Belgium and on an international level.

With the summer still fresh in our minds, things are about to get hot and heavy once more. SAE Institute, 365Mag and Extrema Music are proud to present not one but two get-togethers with techno's all-time favorite rebel, Mr. Dave Clarke. On 27 September and 18 October at respectively the 013 pop venue in Tilburg and the Doornroosje venue in Nijmegen, Dave will take part in two editions of 365Mag's music production workshops, together with SAE Institute and Duotone, as well as gigging later on during the club night.

SAE Amsterdam graduate, Villi Asgeirsson, will premiere his short film "black sand" in Reykjavík International Film Festival in October 2008.

the short was filmed with Sony HDV camera and edited on Final cut Pro. The Music was composed by Guy Fletcher, keyboard player in Dire Straits and more.

SAE Rotterdam biedt vanaf dit nieuwe jaar tevens een Nederlandstalige parttime audio opleiding aan op de zaterdag. Speciaal voor diegenen die fulltime werken of het Engels als een obstakel zien is deze Nederlandstalige opleiding in het leven geroepen.

Students and staff of SAE Rotterdam completed the built of our new greenscreen, which allows full body shots. Students will now be able to apply the color(chroma)-keying knowledge gained in the film making course in practice extending the range of their port-folio and skills.

Besides three SAE-Graduates in the production crew, a group of four SAE-Audio students are working as volunteers at the famous Lowlands festival this weekend. The students will be working on different stages and the small production studios.

Some of the performing bands are: Editors, the Kooks, Sex Pistols, N*E*R*D, Anouk, Sven Väth, Underworld and Deus.

Great fun and great learning experience!
