Since the establishment of the School of Audio Engineering in 1976 by Dr. Tom Misner, SAE Institute has grown to become the largest international network of colleges providing audio, digital film, multimedia, animation and game development training. SAE Institute is represented in twenty countries on four continents. SAE has two institutes in The Netherlands: Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

SAE Institute established its first school in the Netherlands in 1991. We now provide professional training in all aspects of media technology, currently training some 400 students per year. Our graduates can be found in many professional production facilities throughout the Netherlands, Belgium and on an international level.

On Sunday, July 13th 14:00 - 18:00, SAE & Digidesign will cohost several free workshops and demonstrations in our facilities in Rotterdam.

14th June sees 365Mag and SAE teaming up with Apple for another instalment in its lauded music production workshops at the Sugar Factory in Amsterdam. This edition will focus entirely on Apple's revolutionary Logic Pro 8 software and consist of a batch of interesting masterclasses by international industry professionals.

The Inside Look workshop series continues with Alden Tyrell on May 29th. He will allow you to take a look at how his productions take shape, bringing his favourite and most-used hardware to Bootleg DJ Cafe.

SAE's Seth Matteucci will show you how to make sure your productions will be optimized for sound and balance, using easily available mastering tools. It goes without saying that mastering is the final step between the hours spend in your studio and making the final cut on vinyl or digital formats.

During and after this workshop you will be able to ask Alden Tyrell and Seth questions to help you get the most out of your own productions.

For over 50 years, the AES has been the largest gathering of audio professionals and enthusiasts on the globe, attracting delegates from over 100 countries worldwide.

The pro-audio exhibition, technical sessions, exhibitor and application seminars are but a few of the assets that our visitors and participants benefit from.

The AES brings specialist from all over the world to Amsterdam. Two of them give a special seminar at SAE Amsterdam.

SAE Institute Rotterdam offers documentary film master classes of award winner Yan Ting Yuen as part of the Film Making Diploma Programme.

Yan Ting Yuen was born in Hong Kong, China. At the age of 5 her parents moved to Europe, where she grew up and received her education. She graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a masters degree in Communication Sciences.

After assisting in several film and television productions Yuen made her director’s debut in 2001 with the short documentary ‘Chin.Ind.: Life behind the serving hatch’ which was nominated for the National Dutch Film Award. Her second film is the musical documentary ‘Yang Ban Xi, the 8 model works’, nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Filmfestival 2005 and was awarded Prix du Meilleur Essai at the Montreal International Festival of films on art 2007. Next to her documentary work she also directs short films and works of multimedia.

Yuen works on the border of fiction and documentary, in which she shows each reality in a slightly skewed way.

At this moment she is preparing her first feature fiction film about the world of mathematicians.
