(AQTF Diploma of Screen CUF50401)
Duration: one year full time
The curriculum of the Digital Film Production course takes the student through the entire process of creating video and motion graphics with the emphasis on digital technologies associated with editing and post-production. It is theoretical in its analysis of film and filmic techniques and applies these to the emerging digital realm. It is also highly practical in nature exposing students to specialised techniques, industry perspectives and insights.
Students will write, produce, direct, edit and mix a number of projects where each examine individual aspects of digital film production:
All of which make up the student's self-produced DVD showreel at the end of the year.
This course provides a comprehensive education in the skills and knowledge required by professionals working in today’s film and video industries. Employment options include fields such as film and video production, post-production and compositing, multimedia and many other related professions.
You will learn both the technical and creative side of the film-making process and how to work with others in the production environment while completing complex projects.
Theoretical lectures are complemented by practical studio demonstrations. During this program you will book our equipment, edit suites, studios, video and audio workstations, for your own practical sessions - hands-on studio time is the only way to learn.
Upon completion of this program you will be able to enter the film business with a developed set of film-making skills. Or enter one of our degree programs*, either in Byron Bay (the Bachelor of Digital Media) or in any of our overseas degree centres (the Bachelor of Arts, in partnership with Middlesex University)
