All short courses at SAE focus on creative uses of music and video production software - but how do you choose the software that is right for you?
Below is a summary on what we think is each software's strength, and should guide you on choosing the course and software that is the best for your creative desires...
The name says it all - from start to finish, Ableton's approach to music production is extremely live and spontaneous. Having a massive following with DJ's and electronic music producers, Live is probably the easiest software to learn, and if you're interested in performing electronic music on stage, then it is almost your only choice!

Pro Tools is the software you'll most find in professional recording studios. If you're a musician who wants to record demos at home, or work in a pro facility, then this is the software for you. At it's most basic it works effortlessly like a tape recorder, but getting into it more deeply you'll discover an extremely powerful audio editor and mixing tool.

The concept of Reason is simple: take a selection of synths, drum machines and effects from the studios of yesteryear, create it in software, then make it work hands-on like the real gear! Reason features a very functional sequencer to record and tweak, and whilst it cannot record audio, it does integrate very nicely with all the above software.
